A Little About Me
I am a licensed clinical social worker and a registered art therapist. I received my undergraduate degree from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon Iowa in 1994, where I studied Sociology and Anthropology. In 2000, I obtained a Master of Arts in Social Work from Jane Addams School of Social work at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Thereafter, I completed a certification program in Art Therapy at the Adler School of Professional Psychology, in 2005.
I have worked in a variety of social service settings over the years including Metropolitan Family Services, Circle Family Care, and Hartgrove Hospital in Chicago, IL., United Hospital in St. Paul, Mn, and Pillars in Berwyn, IL. I opened my own private practice in 2012 and continue to stay current in the field by attending workshops, reading, and participating in professional consultation groups. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers, the American Art Therapy Association, and the Illinois Art Therapy Association.
